Implantology Year Programme

The Bath Spa Dentistry Implantology Year Programme has been running successfully every year since 2009. With an intake of only 8 delegates per cohort, the programme gets booked up many months in advance. The programme runs for 8 one day units, starting in March and finishing in November each year.

One unit per month, always on a Friday. Actual dates for each year will be released on 1st January each year.

£5,000 per person

£1,000 deposit required at time of booking

Description Course content includes:

Practical workshops:

  • Placing an implant into a dummy jaw
  • Incisions, flap design and suturing
  • Draping and gowning procedures
  • Open and closed tray techniques

  • Guided bone regeneration workshop
  • Expansion techniques

Live surgeries:

  • Live surgical procedures will be available to view during the programme. Delegates are not required to provide their own patients for treatment.

Aims

Dentistry is consistently evolving and changing, with continuous research into every aspect of dentistry and dental materials bringing new discoveries, enhanced techniques and innovative technologies and materials.

The Bath Spa Dentistry Supper and Study Club provides the opportunity for practitioners with an interest in dental implant treatments and their team members to attend a series of events to learn about up to date topical subjects in the field of implantology.

At each session the latest evidence will be reviewed and presented with Dr McNulty’s own personal experiences in the techniques covered, the Supper and Study Club is also a forum to discuss and share experiences with other like minded professionals..

Lunch and Learns

Summary

The Bath Spa Dentistry ‘lunch and learn’ sessions are a 60 minute presentation delivered to the whole dental team by one or two of our team members at your premises.

Taking place during lunch hour, these sessions are an excellent introduction to dental implants and a chance for everyone attending to earn 1 hour CPD.
The sessions are free of charge and we even provide lunch.

This is an excellent opportunity for the whole team to get together and learn in a comfortable, relaxed environment.

These sessions can be an introduction to other educational events and also for the tea to become more familiar with the Bath Spa Dentistry referral process.

Educational Outcomes

On attending one of the Bath Spa Dentistry ‘Lunch and Learn’ sessions, the outcomes will be:-

  • Understand the principles of patient selection

Dermot McNulty is a Lecturer and Examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons, Faculty of General Dental Practice Implant Diploma Courses held in London and Leeds and Course Director for the Implant Diploma Programme in London. He has been actively involved in implant dentistry since 1987 and has extensive experience of all the major implant systems. Dr McNulty has pursued dental implant and restorative postgraduate education both in the UK and abroad. He was awarded the RCS Diploma in Implantology and is continuing the MSc in Implant Dentistry at the University of London. Dermot qualified from Birmingham University in 1982 and, as well as running a successful private referral practice in Bath, he regularly runs courses in implant and restorative dentistry in his tailor-made training centre, which is located adjacent to the practice…Read full bio
